Former T.I. AMASS Headmaster Alhaji Yakub Bin Abubakr Dies in Tragic Accident

Published

on

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Ghana’s education sector are in mourning following the tragic passing of Alhaji Yakub Bin Abubakr, a respected missionary and former Headmaster of T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (T.I. AMASS), Kumasi.

According to reports, Alhaji Yakub was involved in a serious motor accident along the Winneba–Cape Coast highway. He was placed on oxygen and received intensive medical attention, but sadly succumbed to his injuries. His death was confirmed earlier today.

Alhaji Yakub was widely revered for his unwavering commitment to both faith and education. As a long-serving missionary and headmaster, he was known for his integrity, disciplined leadership, and efforts to uphold academic and moral excellence at T.I. AMASS and within the wider Ahmadiyya educational framework in Ghana.

“This is a profound loss not only to his immediate family but also to the entire Ahmadiyya fraternity, the education community, and the nation at large,” a former colleague noted.

His legacy lives on in the thousands of students he mentored, the educators he inspired, and the communities he served with dedication and humility.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, educational authorities, and members of the general public have extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, offering prayers for peace and divine mercy for the departed soul.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, shower His mercy upon him, and admit him to Jannatul Firdaus.

Details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.

Nana Agradaa Jailed 15 Years for Money Doubling Scam

Published

on

Accra, July 3, 2025 – Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Accra Circuit Court for engaging in charlatanic advertisement and defrauding people under the pretense of doubling money.

The conviction follows her 2022 viral “money doubling” broadcast, where she claimed she could spiritually multiply cash for anyone who brought money to her ministry. Dozens of victims responded, only to be left empty-handed after handing over large sums.

Court’s Ruling

Presiding judge Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah ordered a pregnancy test before sentencing, which confirmed Agradaa was not pregnant. The sentence was delivered immediately after.

Public Response

Many Ghanaians have welcomed the ruling, viewing it as a clear message to spiritual leaders and influencers who misuse their platforms to exploit the public. Civil society groups have praised the court for taking a firm stance against spiritual fraud.

Legal Significance

Legal experts say the 15-year sentence serves as a strong deterrent and underscores the seriousness of charlatanic practices under Ghanaian law.

Nana Agradaa, once a controversial figure in both spiritual and religious circles, now faces a new chapter—behind bars.

VIDEO: Mahama Declares 24-Hour Economy Agenda A ‘National Reset’

Published

on

President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, describing it as not a mere policy initiative but as a “national reset” aimed at fundamentally transforming Ghana’s economic landscape.

Speaking at the launch event in Accra on Wednesday, July 2, President Mahama unveiled what he termed the “24-H Plus Agenda”, a strategic initiative designed to maximise productivity, drive export growth, and create inclusive economic opportunities across all sectors of society.

“Today marks the formal launch of the 24-hour economy and accelerated export development programme, what we now proudly call the 24-H Plus Agenda,” he announced.

“This is more than a policy initiative, it is a national reset a bold strategic shift to unlock our country’s full productive potential,” he continued.

Framing the policy in historical and ideological terms, Mahama declared the agenda a return to Ghana’s founding ideals.

“Today we reclaim our founders’ vision of a self-reliant, industrious and inclusive African nation that works with organised creativity and ensures prosperity for all,” he said.

He stressed that the programme would be driven primarily by the private sector, with government playing an enabling and catalytic role.
