Premier League Champions Liverpool Conclude Season with 1-1 Draw Against Crystal Palace
Anfield, May 25, 2025 — Liverpool wrapped up their triumphant 2024/25 Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Anfield.
The match, played in a celebratory atmosphere, saw the champions lift the trophy after the final whistle.
Crystal Palace took an early lead in the 9th minute when Ismaïla Sarr capitalized on a defensive lapse to put the visitors ahead.
Despite dominating possession and creating multiple chances, Liverpool found Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson in inspired form, denying efforts from Luis Díaz and others.
The Reds faced further adversity when Ryan Gravenberch received a red card, reducing them to ten men.
However, their persistence paid off in the 84th minute when Mohamed Salah scored an acrobatic equalizer, marking his 29th league goal of the season.
This goal brought Salah’s total goal involvements to 47, equaling the Premier League record held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.
The match also marked the final appearance of vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who received a warm reception from the Anfield faithful amid reports of a move to Real Madrid.
Following the match, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk lifted the Premier League trophy, celebrating the club’s second title under manager Jürgen Klopp.
Salah was honored with the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season awards, capping off a remarkable individual campaign.
