Liverpool Sign Florian Wirtz in Club-Record Deal
Liverpool have completed the signing of German star Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a club-record transfer worth up to £116 million. The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal and becomes the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Wirtz, who scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists last season, was named Bundesliga Player of the Year and played a key role in Leverkusen’s title-winning campaign. Known for his creativity and versatility, he is expected to be a central figure in Arne Slot’s new-look Liverpool side.
The German international reportedly turned down interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City to join Liverpool, citing his belief in the club’s vision and ambition.
His arrival marks the start of an aggressive summer rebuild at Anfield, with further signings expected in the coming weeks.
