Creative Arts Agency To Host Global Candlelight Vigil In Honor Of Daddy Lumba
The Creative Arts Agency has officially invited the public to a National Candlelight Vigil in memory of Ghana’s legendary highlife musician, Daddy Lumba. The solemn tribute will be held on 2nd August 2025 at Independence Square in Accra from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
According to a statement issued by Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency, this event will not only honor the life and legacy of Daddy Lumba but also serve as a celebration of music, culture, and community. The vigil in Accra will form part of a broader global tribute, with simultaneous observances taking place in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands.
The Agency emphasized the significance of this moment in uniting people across continents through a shared appreciation for the artist’s music and lasting impact.
