Aflao: Community in Shock as 5-Year-Old Girl Killed in Suspected Ritual Murder

The Aflao community in Ketu South Municipality has been left reeling following the suspected ritual murder of a five-year-old girl on the evening of Monday, May 12, 2025.

According to local reports, the tragedy unfolded after the child’s mother stepped out briefly, leaving her two young children asleep at home. Upon returning, she discovered that her five-year-old daughter was missing, prompting an urgent search by family and neighbors.

The search led to a chilling discovery: the girl’s blood-stained clothing was found on the compound of Ahiable Yao David, a fan milk vendor and choir member at a local church.

Police were called to the scene and launched an immediate investigation. During a search of the suspect’s residence, officers reportedly uncovered a pot buried beneath his bed, containing what are believed to be human body parts belonging to the missing child.

The suspect, Ahiable Yao David, is currently on the run and is being actively pursued by police.

The horrific incident has plunged the community into deep shock and mourning, with residents demanding swift action and justice for the young victim.
